Selected SLEM Best Prtactices for ESIP

ICFRE had documented following 21 best practices for sustainable land and ecosystem management under the World Bank funded SLEM Project (2009-2014):

Out of above, ESIP envisages up-scaling of selected best practices in the private lands. common property resource lands and non-forest lands in the states of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh as per their location specific and suitability in the selected project areas. Besides MoEFCC/ GIZ have identified following best natural resource management practices:

  • Climate-proofing fish farming
  • Eco-restoration and institution strengthening
  • Improving pasture management and livestock rearing
  • Livelihood diversification through integrated production systems
